This Morning (FULL Episodes): https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkFvMRqqXHhjPWduoFmSeffN0913HVIR4&si=PGzyuUJDwXFx3d50 (05.11.2025).
This Morning is formatted as a chat show, covering popular news stories, while sneaking hidden treasures (short segments like celebrity gossip/cooking), which could be there to keep attention span for longer stories to keep the viewers hooked, as it runs for two and a half hours long (10:00 - 12:30) everyday. 'This Morning' uses mid century modern aesthetics with warm lighting, which could convey a home-like appeal, as the Hosts start off on the couch on set, introducing today's talks (headlines). They would often use headlines at the start of the show, as it could hook the viewers to watch it. They also use the home-like style, as viewers would most likely have the show on in the background, while the viewers do household chores. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3Xemzv_AzM (05.11.2025). This clip, shows the small segments, the producers and writers use cut between harsh/important topics, this could be for attention spans or even to add breaks so viewers can make a cup of tea or go to the toilet, as it is Live. However this show does have ad breaks, which could be for the hosts to have a break. This Morning uses hosts to target a specific demographic (middle-aged housewives). This also relates to the schedule the show is on, as kids will be in school and partners will be at work. The dynamic of the show shifts for harsh/important topics to short fun/silly segments, as they change seats from couches to table and chairs for the important topics. The hosts are normally household names and loved by the intended target demographic like Ben Shephard. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Morning_(TV_programme)#:~:text=This%20Morning%20is%20a%20British,present (05.11.2025).
The ONE Show is formatted as weekday, evening chat show (magazine). This show uses a mix of studio discussions with pre-recorded segments on a variety of issues. The show is broadcasted at 19:00 in the evening. This could suggest the intended target demographic is parents, who work during the day to catch up on news. The ONE Show could also work as a filler before EastEnders to have on in the background, while parents make dinner for the children. The show airs for 30 minutes, which suggests the show is quite fast-paced, which could align with the harsh red for the main colours, as red has connotations for emergencies, red also has connotations for love, which could suggest a relaxed atmosphere. The green of the sofa's could works as a complementary colours with the with the red lights and tv displaying the BBC logo. The Hosts consists of Alex Jones, Roman Kemp, Ronald Keating and Lauren Laverne. The presenters all come from different backgrounds, which could suggest the they want to target towards different parents/young adults. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=118-Doad_4c (05.11.2025). This clip is a full episode of the show. The opening uses upbeat beats with a choir like hum, throughout the intro, using the bold red BBC colour, bouncing between the logo splitting it up into boxes to show past shows. The bouncing could convey with the quick and snappy asspect of the show, as it is 30 minutes long. After the opening title, the presenters are sat on the couch in a comfortable position to play with the relaxed evening dynamics. They would often start by overlaying BROLL over the presenters, when talking about the headlines, which could act as a point for viewers to join in, sort of like a filler.

Title: The Kenzie Quin Show.
Colour Theme: Purple = Background, Orange = Less but Bold.
We decided to set the colour theme to purple and orange, as in shows like the BBC 'The ONE Show', they use red as the stand out colour to grab viewers attentions for news, as red has connotations for staying alerted/danger/something is going to happen. My group wanted to do pink, orange and white. However, I thought orange and pink clash, as their both in your face, which could give a sensory overload. I decided to use my director power to give my opinion to why I thought the colours needed to be changed. The reason behind this change, is Our show is a informative chat show. The colour pink has connotations of fun and gossip. Whereas, Purple has connotations of royals, which has connotations of power, which power has connotations of informative and the colour orange is bold, which sends the colour purple to the back. Orange has connotations for warmth and comfort, which creates a fun side to the show, chat like almost, without overpowering the purple.

- Slightly informal, down to earth with light comedy and snappy subjects -
Episode Target - Has online shopping impacted sellers in Preston?
Goal - interview a variety of sellers in Preston and ask them questions regarding their experience selling since Covid.
Include B-roll of urban videography of the marketplace during the questions in edit.
Questions to ask:
How long have you been selling in the Preston area?
How would you describe your experience selling in Preston?
Has the rise of online shoppers impacted your sales?
If Question 3 has a positive response - Do you think online shopping will become a threat in the near future?
If Question 3 has a negative response - What can we do in the future to support sellers/business’?
On 05.11.2025, my production creative crew, planned our overview for our chat show. In the photograph we have planned on a whiteboard we found in lesson hours. We set out to find a name for the show and settled on 'The Kenzie Quin Show'. This was chosen, as our inspiration is set between 'Loraine' and 'Good Morning Britain'. Both shows contains informative news and sub news content made to keep the viewer entertained.
Next, we discussed about the format of the show, following our research with 'This Morning', 'The ONE Show' and 'Loraine' we gathered that each of them have a brief yap section at the start, explaining what is going to be in the show, almost like a contents in a book/magazine. Which is crucial for our show, as it teases the viewers into the show for the random news debates/content like 'Good Morning Britain'.
I asked Asante to make a start, on creating the logo for the show, as my group and I have decided on the colour theme of purple and orange. However, I decided to create a logo as well, to show Asante, what my vision was. The logo I created ended up being the final logo and would appear on our live show. This was due to Asante's logo being very extra, whereas mine was very simplistic. I did asked Asante to create overlays, to put over Lewis' segment. This was to help the editor with the theming of the editing for the show.

> I’ve always enjoyed visiting the marketplace, especially on a warm summer's day. It’s always been a great way to explore different cultures and traditions, so many fun stores to explore with unique food and goods. The idea of possibly losing the market in the near future, honestly breaks my heart. We’ve just seen that the sellers aren't too scared of the increase in online shopping but what about the consumers? Up next Asante Dzombo and her thoughts on the state of the Market, after the break.

After finalising the script. I asked Mark, if we could film on Thursday 15th of November. However, on that day, I got a text off a crew member, who was supposed to be interviewed, that she had other plans, when the roles were created, a week before. I fixed this by asking Mark to change the filming slot to the following Tuesday and I would get Lewis to replace Asante. I also used our original filming slot to run a rehearsal and test the camera angles with Kenzie and Lewis, where I found out Lewis has a stutter, when it comes to a freestyle segment. This segment was important, as it would summarise the whole episode of 'The Kenzie Morning Show'. I decided to fix this by asking Mark to book out one of the podcast rooms (Friday 16th) for Lewis to practice the questions, Kenzie was going to say. This worked for Lewis, as it aloud him to focus on his speaking and pronunciation.

I also asked Dec (the college technician) if we could use the two blue chairs on performing arts floor (floor 2) to act as a sofa, as we wanted the same feel/style, as 'The Tonight Show'. This was greenlighted for the original recording slot. However, I managed to get Dec to greenlight the new slot on 'Wednesday 19th'. When creating the logo, I wanted something simplistic. After, looking at what my group came up with, I decided to create an example for what I want in the logo. I wanted to show 2 bold colours, one that stands out and one that blends in. This would allow the viewers eyeline naturally start from the top left and end at the bottom right. This is where I used the bright orange to start and end with the purple
Overall, I feel the show went well, with idea generation to gathering b-roll footage and shooting the voiceovers. However, there were delays with actors acting unprofessional and not knowing lines when needed. This is especially seen when we interview the members of the public, where our interviewer had to take breaks and restart takes as he kept forgetting each question, this wasn't a huge deal, as the buisness owners were very polite and professional to wait for the interviewer to be ready. I instead decided to cut each video from question to question, as we could have Kenzie in the studio talk in-between thee questions. However, after consulting with my editor, I decided to show the questions on my iPad and let my camera person, hold the mic as well. This helped the interviewer to run the interview without any struggles. I also think if I was more strict, my host and interviewer would of put more effort into learning their lines. This was especially known in the studio, where we tried to hold placards, but they kept making noise, which took attention away from the host. We then tried holding them in the live gallery, but then ran into the issue of the host constantly looking away from the camera, which was a huge deal breaker. After trying all these methods, I decided to ask for a laptop for the host to use on the table to make it look more professional. This worked okay. However, if I was to do this again, I would put pressure on actors knowing the script with their lines the main focus.
(Martin Sullivan Talk (my notes on 14.11.2025). https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nf6iBBjK4YX_SQxuPbgt6IITsitu87Hm/view?usp=sharing (18.11.2025).
Martin Sullivan spent his childhood battling his drug-induced mother, who would physically beat him with punches to the face, which led him to sleep in a dog kennel at 11 years old. This would lead Sullivan be taken from school, into a children's home. This led Sullivan, on the path of drugs, as kids in care, come from different backgrounds. Which can mislead children into thinking what right and what's wrong. When Sullivan first got put into the system at 'New Horizon Children's Home', he did not have any behavioral issues, although during this time, he started care seeking with self-harming (Attention seeking is where you deliberately seek for drama, whereas, 'care seeking' is where the induvial wanting to ask for help, but does not know how, due to past trauma'.
Sullivan was past through the care system, including secure units, as he started to seek care, which started his behavioral issues. 'A secure unit is a place like a prison, but managed by social workers'. At the age of 15, Sullivan was arrested, for possession of firearms, which led to him being placed on the 'punishment block' in 'Lancaster Farms', where prison staff would surround him and strip search him, due the firearms possession, he was charged with. This charged was a £17.50 robbery, but due to the firearms possession, his charge was more severe. Sullivan self harm would increase to using razor blades in prison.
Sullivan would be past through the prison system, getting past on, like the pass the parcel game. He then be reclassified, where he would meet his uncle (who was in possession of 2 million in heroin) in 'Parkhurst', which is a 'category A' prison. Reclassification is where a prisoner, would be transferred and charged as an adult, 21+. This is where he would be transferred to 'Ashworth - high-secure hospital', which is a prison, that is run by doctors. This is the place where Sullivan would be placed into a strip cell, where the average time spent is 5 years and the longest time spent is 10 years. Sullivan grouped up with other service users to climb on the roof of the hospital and caused £50,000 in roof top damages. Once he got off the roof he was injected in the bottom, which knocked him out for 5 days and woke up on a different ward with 5 staff surround him 24/7.
After getting being put onto the strongest antipsychotic medication (Clozapine). Sullivan behavior issues decreased and would be transferred onto low-level ward, before leaving, which his cell was next to Ian Brady, a British murderer. Sullivan, now works at the another hospital, he was at before Ashworth and goes up and down the country giving talks about his story and the dangers of knife crime.

MK Mind Rewind is seeking to enhance and update several aspects of its material offerings. We are interested in pursuing a variety of projects.
Firstly, we aim to promote our services and illustrate how they benefit our clients, communities, and individuals. To achieve this, we propose creating a video featuring Martin, who will explain our mission and services, which we can then distribute upon request. We would also like leaflets producing that are professional and can be sent out to businesses to advertise our services.
Secondly, Ashworth Hospital has asked if we could produce a number of videos highlighting the positive things Martin has done since leaving the hospital that they can show to service users to inspire them. They would also like a half hour presentation to show the possibilities and positives upon release from secure services
Lastly, we have several PowerPoint presentations that require redesigning for our upcoming sessions so that they flow better, including potential interactive elements.
We are available for discussions and brainstorming ideas.
Thank you."
Martin Sullivan is a ex-convict/recovering induvial from drug induced psychosis. Sullivan wants to spread his story and his struggles to the path of reform, across the UK and to people in the same boat as him. His primary audience is two demographics, one for people in the same prison system he was in and the other is for children/young people in schools, talking about the dangers of knife crime. A way it can appeal to the audience effectively is by showing Martin's story and how he struggled fully, going through his mental health struggles as well as his addiction. what we can do is focus on key parts that were moving, like when he talked about how self harm is care seeing and not attention seeking, showing that he knows what its like and he can relate to some of the audiences struggles. after viewing this project the audience may feel slightly emotional and moved, as some of the topics are quite hard hitting and intense. for this brief it requires a PowerPoint, multiple videos with one featuring Sullivan and the others focused on Ashworth and finally some leaflets. for the PowerPoint it should be just about half an hour long and the leaflets should be informational and professional. One example of media that could inform this project is using a video format, as Sullivan was asked by the hospital he works at for a video they could play to recovering induvial, to prepare them for the world, as they would of been in prison for years, like Sullivan, went to prison went flip phones were popular (Nokia's) and was released, with electric vehicles, roaming the streets. Sullivan also talked about the idea of a book for young children to teach them about knife crime, which could be a great way to inform, without traumatising them.

Teenagers (13 - 17).
Young Adults (18 - 24).
Hero/Villain
Pros - Can focus on researching one target demographic, can be suitable for all ages, especially children.
Cons - One target demographic, needs a good graphic artist, older induvial's might find this childish and ignore the whole overall message.
Mini Series (QR Code Link)
Pros - Can have a specific age range for each mini episode (about three), easily accessible - create leaflets, which Sullivan can handout across the UK, during his talks, with a QR code, linking to the mini series, each episode can be on different topics: knife crime, self harming and sexual abuse.
Cons - Can create a tight deadline.
Documentary (Interviews)
Pros - Can incorporate a Bashir style documentary, can include interviews with the head of the Hospital Sullivan was in, can be unique and can mix two different types of documentaries together. Can create a feel good video for patients at the hospital to watch.
Cons - Overdone, can be lengthy.
What was the first thing you did, as soon as you left the Hospital?
How hard was it, to rebuild your career and create a name for yourself?
How do you feel, since the Hospital, you were placed in, hired you to work on the wards?
Are there any negative impacts to your medication?
What piece of advice would you give to someone, who are trying to start again?
What piece of advice would you give to someone, who might be struggling, but scared to ask for help?
How has your mental health improved, after serving?
What piece of advice, would you to a patient that is struggling to open up?
What advice would you give to a patient, who will be released soon?
Do you think Martin's journey is inspiring to your staff and patients, who might be going through the same struggles?
How has Martin's journey helped you to treat other patients/become a better Doctor?
Is Martin's journey something you see often, within patients?
How many patients on average, would you say you have helped over the years?
The target audience for for these can vary between children to adults. This is due to mental health being in everyone and can effect people in different ways. This is used in the "How are you feeling?" poster, where the NHS Collab with the council of Leeds to show different reasons, why people could suffer from poor mental health. The colours are bright pastel colours. This could be used, as bright colours have positive connotations, and pastels have connotations of being soft and warm colours, which the NHS could want to convey this to show the viewers, they can talk and be open about their mental health. This also plays into the target audience being adult, males. This could be as males tend to not be as open as women, especially young adults, who are trying to be taken serious and make a name for themselves. This is shown through the partnership with 'Brewdog' a larger company. 'Brewdog' uses a blue colour theme which plays with the gender stereotype of being predominant. They also use slang in the slogan "IT'S TIME TO GIVE AF", which shows they want to appeal to the younger generation. The use of gold in the theme wants to audience to think like a champion, when it comes to mental health, as gold has connotations with wealth and 1st place medals. The main purpose for the leaflets is to inform the viewers, about mental health and how it effects a person. Another reason is showing and guiding support to the induvial to prevent them from getting worse and shutting down, when it comes to opening up to someone. They make the posters accessible to people with different disabilities, like visual impairment, as they use bold text. They also use bright colours to draw the intended target audience to the posters, as men are more likely to notice these posters when walking past, as males typically are sensitive to detecting movement. The leaflets are all designed and executed well as they use bold colours to grab the viewers attention. The use of imagery also plays with the grabbing of attention, this is mainly shown in "How are you feeling?" poster. In the "Support your mental health" poster they use the bold colours to draw the viewers eyeline to the poster to read further into the poster, which plays with the smaller font. The partnership poster uses a recognisable product, which is typically bought by males. This would draw the intended audience to the poster, as it shows something they love, which is found to be one of the easier ways to market to specific target demographic. https://www.shadygroveophthalmology.com/womens-and-mens-vision-understanding-the-differences/#:~:text=Men%20are%20typically%20more%20sensitive,essential%20for%20hunting%20and%20survival. A music producer supports artists and working musicians to capture and find ways of recording their music. Music producers can have musical knowledge, such as being able to read sheet music and play an instrument, or have a technical knowledge of an engineer. Music producers is priotising the creative side, but can perform administration tasks.
Music producers skills can extend out of the music knowledge or engineering knowledge. Skills such as: project management, budget management, people management, team building and negotiating skills. Negotiation sticks out, as people wouldn't think this job, would use such a skill. However, this skill could be used to persuade a client to go with a certain style of music to match the lyrics or opposite.
Avid Pro is a recognisable editing software for music producing, as well as Apple Logic Pro. Avid Pro hosts Sony's 360 reality spatial music mixing and delivery. This software is best used for professional studios, as hardware equipment is needed to take access to the full software, like mixing and film scoring. They also have a annual fee of £259.00. Whereas, Logic Pro is for solo artist with a one time fee with regular updates to keep the version up-to-date. Logic Pro also has a user friendly interface, which makes it easier for solo artist to produce and publish music.
Music Producers would typically work with record labels to help produce and create great sounding music, without the burden of fees for leading industry software. They would also work with the mangers for artist, as the manger would typically have strict rules that need to be followed for the upkeep of the record label contract.

A Film Director is often recognised for the success of the film project. They would have creative control to shape the film to match their intended vision and narrative. Their direction will set the tone of the production and could influence the audience's emotional answer.
A Film Directors roles would widen, throughout the film production. Roles such as, reading through scripts and giving notes to align with their creative vision. Overlook the casting directors and advise them of the type of actor to form the film narrative. Collab with the location mangers to scout out the scenes to decide to film on location or in a studio to match the vision of the director. Organise and monitor the rehearsal schedule and film schedule, before focusing on the final filming schedule, where they would direct the actors and mark the spots, they should be at the time of specific scene. They would also oversee and lead the editing, after filming to keep the vision alive and select the music. After this they would focus on signing off the film and support the promotions for the film, including premieres.
Film Directors in film and television, would often work unsocially, in the evening and weekends for 10 to 12 hours. Directors would also work extra hours, creating meetings to discuss the different aspects of the production. The filming is often on set of location and would travel to different places for work.
When it comes to the legal side of film-making. Film Directors have to follow strict guides to ensure the don't get into bother. One legal side is making sure they don't accidently copy another film storyline, when it comes to scriptwriting, as that can happen. They would typically use the a small portion of the public to read through the brief overview of the script, after they have signed a NDA contract. An NDA contract is binding contract, that would protect sensitive information by stopping parties from discussing the information. Following this, they would also have to mange the whole film crew contracts from actors to administration team.
Trademarking and copyright the film, to protect the brand element for marketing purposes, which will keep other brands from profiting off from their production.

My group and I, sat down to create a 2 lists of questions to ask Alison Cannon and Martin Sullivan. I initially wanted to have a positive style to the video, as we chose to on the a feel good video for Ashworth to use for patients to look up to and get excited about their upcoming release. I was asked to send off the questions to my tutor, so he can send them off to Martin to tweak and give Cannon and Sullivan time to prepare for the interview to avoid the 'ers' and 'urms'.

On 27.11.2025, I was told that we couldn't use the studio until period 3, but we could use the photography studio. However, with everyone else wanting to use the photography studio, I could interview Cannon last to avoid her from exhausting herself and making her time at Preston College a day to remember, so she could work with the college again in the future. My group and I had an earlier break, so we could set up before Cannon came for the Interview. I initially, wanted to have a green screen in the background so we could key out and add a background of our choice, whilst she talks and answers the question. However, we couldn't pin up the screen, as they kept falling down, due to the loose fabric from the boards we wanting to screen to. I made an directorial decision to scrap the green screen and use the moveable black boards to have neutral background and we would add the B-roll in, when she is answering instead. We set up the studio to be on a angle and use 2 Canon 250d's to have the same quality, as the black magic camera was only showing 1. We positioned the lights to Canon's side and front, using a warmth yellow on the side and a harsh white on the front, as I wanted to ask the questions to the side to show a cosy and relaxed style to match the feel good video. The side light would have a warmer light (yellow) to keep with the feel good video style from the client brief, as yellow has connotations with the sun, which has connotations of being warm and cosy. I took a suggestion off Fynn, who is the editor of the group and used the single Blackmagic camera to record behind the scenes for the entrance of Cannon to exit to add to the laid back and positive video, my group and I wanted to produce. If I was to reshoot/Interview her again, I would sit in-between the two camera's to balance the eyeline of the interviewee, as her eyeline was focused on me, due to me asking the questions.
When it comes to workflow methods, I find that location scouting is most useful, as I can get a feel for the film or photography project. This is important as you can combine this workflow method with storyboarding, script writing and shot list creation. These workflow methods work well together, as they can help create and adpt the directors and writers vision together.
In the brief, I was given a task to create a visual information, that Martin Sullivan could handout across the UK, when he gives speeches/talks to schools and colleges.
When designing the leaflet, I knew I wanted to create a minimalistic layout that captures the viewers eyes from the bold colours and title. I also wanted to add a QR code to a 24/7 mental health support line for easy access for anyone struggling with their mental health. I got this idea off the larger poster, I researched, where they used a short slogan to grab the attention of their target demographic.
I used the purple in the colour theme to match with the 'SHOUT' colour theme. I would then use the yellow to match Sullivans brand identity. I wanted to do this, as maintaining a recogniable brand is important, when it comes to advertising yourself, especially if your doing so by your self.
Peer 1 (Ellie): I like the use of third-party QR codes to the 24/7 support line, which works well for the target audience, as teens and young adults today would mainly text, which this line takes control of. I would change the colour of the text at the bottom of the page to white to increase the readability.
Peer 2 (Laura): I find the layout to be balanced with the visuals and the words of information. I feel the bottom text of contact information should be a different colour, as I am struggling to read it. I feel this works well for the target audience, as Martin Sullivan wants to take this into schools, which children/teens use visuals and short slogans to remember information.
Peer 3 (Zach): The colours and text work well and the large header grabs attention well, I like the colour scheme and the information given works for the intended audience and is relevant. All I would improve is more information.
After receiving feedback from my peers, I agreed with the lower visibility issues on my poster/leaflet. I fixed this by creating and adding a box around the the texts, where I would increase the hue/saturation in the design. I then found the poster/leaflet felt unbalanced, due to only have one box of text in a lighter shade. I fixed this by adding a another box around the paragraph, adding a fixed place to balance the poster/leaflet. I would then add white font to the phone and email contact details to increase the visibility further from the feedback.
On the 03.12.2025 (afternoon), My production crew and I, went out to the city to collect b-roll to display over the interviews. The reason for this is because, I wanted to create a visual distraction to keep my clients audience engaged in the message my client wants to achieve. I originally wanted to get some shots of the hospital in Preston, however due to the length we were in the city for that was not do able, as we spent a huge portion of our time discussing the shots for location further. This helped us with capturing a positive essence of Preston. One thing we didn't expect was how cold the weather would be. Next time, I would make sure my production crew and I wrap up warm to avoid a cold the next morning. When taking the shots, I wanted to use a busy path in-between tall building, using leading lines to draw my clients audience into the video. I wanted to use these specific places, Preston is the place Martin Sullivan started to rebuild his career and life from scratch, since being release from Ashworth on Clozapine. During this schedule, my production used Canon 250d's, as I wanted to keep the video quality the same without borrowing different camera's, which might match.
In the 'New Beginnings' Interview. They use muted colours with a standard font, which could be used to not distract the indented audience from the interviewers questions. They use casual clothing, which could suggest they didn't have any import in the costumes and wanted to achieve a 'we are with the people' type of engagement, which shows their indented target audience is working class to pull at their heart strings to help the homeless. This interview uses natural light. This could create a mood that is appealing to the working class, as it feels like they are in the room as the indented audience, rather then using studio light, which create a harsh mood to the production. The Interview is presented by using an introduction to explain the charity, to lead into the first Interviewee. Between the Interviewee, the editor uses b-roll to break away from the long Interview, which could be used to create a visual appealing approach to distract the audience from the length of the video. Additionally, the editor uses a title card, with a still image underneath the text to show the title of the project and showcase the star of the video. This serves the purpose of connecting with the audience, as using this 'with Isabella Six' creates her as a well-known induvial, which draws the audience in, as a 'celebrity' is in the video. The Interviewer uses the questions to explain, what they do. Which could show the audience, that they get straight to the point, which creates the idea, that they are trustworthy. The use of medium shots to help show they Interviewee is trustworthy. This displays this, as medium shots only show the top of their body, which shows they are able to venerable as displaying the full body, has connotations of being smart and powerful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSipQ5a9B0E&t=18s (09.12.2025).
In the 'Alex's Story' video, the editor uses an establishing shot of a lighthouse to foreshadow the production company, which is 'Sealight Films'. The editor, also changes the 'I' in 'Sealight' to a lighthouse to further draw the audience into the film from the start. The next shot is of Alex playing the guitar, displaying the title of film in a hollow box. Which could foreshadow Alex's silence. After this, the editor makes a choice to cut to the interview part using medium shots to show the venerable side to make his story relatable to other audience members. The editor would also use graphics of a black box with the question written in white at the bottom of the screen. This could suggest the idea being trapped in a box linking to his story, finally being told. The editor cuts from medium shot to a facing upwards on the side medium shot, which could play with the idea of his story being personal and relatable. The director uses studio light in a natural setting, due to the film being filmed inside. The director looks to have dressed the room to match Alex's clothing, which is seen as smart casual, suggesting his personality is polite, while still being relaxed. The interview is filmed in a continuous shot with no b-roll to hide behind, which could suggest how serious this story is. At the end of the Interview the director/editor adds a part for Alex to play his guitar, while displaying b-roll over his performance. This could be used to play idea to show Alex as trustworthy, as it is used at the start, before the Interview. https://youtu.be/t2KBzfbQ8q0 (09.12.2025).
In this film (PDSA Careers), the director/editor uses leading lines of the camera walking into one of the PDSA branches. This could simbolise the idea of customers and workers on the same team as each other. Following this, the editor cuts to the Interview, which is placed in the shop, using artificial lighting from the original shop lights. This could suggest that the director wants to have a more personal approach to the video to grab the audience attention to feel like they already work there, due to the casual clothing on the Interviewees and the leading lines into the shop. The use of medium shots creates the atmosphere of the video casual, along side the b-roll of the Interviewee helping another member of staff of the branch. The director and editor uses the colour theme from the logo in the graphics in the video to display and tell the audience about the person on screen name and role in the branch. This could play with the idea of the customers and staff members being on the same level and working together to create a positive atmosphere. https://youtu.be/WfKguLoxSNo (09.12.2025).
Martin Sullivan (Biography).pptx (09.12.2025).
In the Brief, I was given a task to recreate the PowerPoint Martin Sullivan uses for his talks up and down the country for his clients. I wanted to neaten the PowerPoint and give the presentation a theme to match his brand to create a strong brand identity. I did this by choosing a white background to not distract the audience from Sullivan himself, as he likes to talk, rather then present. I also wanted to add his logo on every page to create a familiar feel and bring all the slides together. For his logo, I used Photoshop to get rid of the background by keying around his logo, as Sullivan's logo was not transparent, I also dropped his text from the logo, as I wanted to simplify his logo to build on the brand identity to form a clear remembrance for the his brand and logo. I then listed his events of his life in a short-form list on each slide to help Sullivan, when he is giving to talk, as a breather so he can take breaks without forgetting his train of thoughts. This also helps his audience to write down notes, as his last PowerPoint presentation, was lacking points for the audience to write down notes, incase they don't know how to spell the word or remember, as Sullivan's talks quite fast. Sullivan's first PowerPoint presentation, was good for visuals, which is good for children. However, when it came to teenagers or teachers noting down thoughts for a new display board n knife crime or recreating a new PowerPoint presentation again, it lacked clear information, where the viewer would of had to guest his thoughts. Luckily I made notes, which helped me create this new PowerPoint presentation.

Martin Sullivan (Magazine) https://www.lscft.nhs.uk/news/shine-out-now (09.12.2025).
On 12.12.2025, I was arranged for Martin Sullivan to come in to be interviewed for the feel-good video for the Ashworth patients. Originally, it was supposed to be the Friday the 5th of December. However, due to Sullivan having a family emergency, Sullivan rescheduled the interview. This led to the project having a tight deadline for editing the video together. On the 12th, I came up with the idea to interview Sullivan once with everyone's questions, due to Sullivan having to leave for his job with the NHS. This worked well, which show how professional I am, as well as how it shows key problem solving to avoid hassle for my client. I've set the studio up to match Alison Cannon's interview. I wanted this layout to match the overall theme of the video. I did this by using Fynn's idea of using a warm light on stage left and a white light on stage right. This was to create a warm tone, as warm/yellow has connotations of summer, which is warm. The white light on stage right, was placed there to balance the yellow light to avoid an orange look to the video. This tim around, I gave myself a rode go, instead of the interviewee having one, as I had to dub the audio for Cannon's interview. This worked better as you could hear me ask Sullivan the questions clearly. However, one problem I faced was one crew member not arriving on time, preventing us from interviewing and setting up properly, as this crew member had the second camera, which gave us another tight deadline to work towards. Luckily, by the time Sullivan was ready for the interview, everything was set up. If I was to do this again or for my project, I would tell each crew needed in the studio to be 30 minutes earlier then on time to avoid any tight deadlines.
When working on this project, I've found that the client brief had little detail to what Martin Sullivan wanted for the design for his brand. I found this freedom challenging to create a design from scratch. I ended up using a third party mental health 24/7 helpline to achieve this as Sullivan's reason for the talks is to get people talking about their mental health and especially men, who are known to hide their emotions to friends, family and people in general. With the colour theme, I chose the colour purple at first to match the mental health support line and would pair it with the yellow of Sullivan's brand identity, (MK Mind Rewind). I feel I could improve my communication with the client, as I relied on my tutor to send information off, which delayed the process for the final end product, as I want to receive feedback off Sullivan. This could be improved by asking Sullivan for contact information like an eMail or phone number. After working on this production of making the poster, PowerPoint presentation and short feel-good video for patients. I feel I learnt that you cannot rely on a client. This is due to Sullivan pushing back a time for him to give my teams feedback for the work we have achieved for his brand. I also feel I could improve my interviewing skills, as I kept on saying 'mhm' and 'hum', as I wanted him to know I was not being rude. This made it differicult in the editing process to remove as it picked up on the mic, due to me wearing the other RodeGo. When researching for this project, I found research was my power to finding out what Sullivan's brand is for the design of poster, which I would then use to match with the feel-good video for the patients at Ashworth, which is the main project my group worked on for Sullivan's brand.
